Academic Excellence
As a kindergarten-preparatory preschool, Right Start Academy is committed to helping children develop the skills needed for a successful transition into elementary school.
Our academic program utilizes the Houghton Mifflin Curriculum, a research-based, hands-on learning system designed to encourage active participation and meaningful learning experiences. Aligned with key Pre-K learning goals, this curriculum helps children build essential foundations in:
- Early Literacy & Language Development
- Mathematics & Problem Solving
- Science Discovery
- Critical Thinking Skills
- Creative Expression
- School Readiness
Physical Education & Wellness
Physical activity plays a vital role in healthy childhood development. Regular movement helps children strengthen their bodies, improve focus, build confidence, and develop important motor skills.
To support physical wellness, Right Start Academy incorporates the SPARK Early Childhood Curriculum into our weekly schedule. Children participate in structured, instructor-led activities that promote gross motor development, coordination, balance, strength, endurance, teamwork, cooperation, and healthy lifestyle habits.

Social-Emotional Learning
Social-emotional development is a vital part of a child’s overall growth and school readiness. Learning how to recognize emotions, build healthy relationships, and respond appropriately to everyday situations helps children develop confidence, resilience, and positive social skills.
To support this important area of development, Right Start Academy utilizes the Second Step Early Learning Curriculum. Through engaging, age-appropriate lessons, children learn skills that help them manage their feelings, build friendships, solve problems, and make thoughtful decisions.
Bi-weekly lessons are reinforced throughout the month by classroom teachers, and families receive resources that encourage continued learning and practice at home.
